  • Mark your calendars: The Nomading Film Festival will be held in New York on June 18, 2011. The organizers of the film festival "believe that stories caught on film, while traveling, are some of the most entertaining, educating, beautiful, and authentic" and thus, the festival is designed to exhibit award the best non-fiction travel shorts.
  • Russian photographer Sergey Larenkov has superimposed images from World War II with current photos of the same locations around Russia, Prague, Vienna and Berlin. The results are a haunting reminder of the history these cities possess. The pictures are posted on his livejournal  which you can explore by city. 
  • Like travel shows but feel like the hosts never have enough tattoos? Don't worry because Mötley Crüe's drummer Tommy Lee has been tapped to host Culture Shock With Tommy Lee on SyFy. The show will focus on Lee uncovering rituals, symbols and other mysteries of secret societies around the world.
